Individual Therapy
Philosophy & Approach
I understand creativity to be the strongest medicine we have in the face of depression, anxiety, and trauma. I also understand that difficult times make accessing creativity all the harder, and I strive to support you with imagination, hope, and openness to the possibilities you can create. I am interested in being honest and clear about the barriers you face, without losing track of where you have the power to impact your life and experience.
My therapeutic foundation is in drama therapy, which is the intentional use of drama processes to achieve therapeutic goals. In my work, this often translates to the use of metaphor, narrative, and creative imagining when engaging with clients.
I am comfortable providing homework and a directive approach if you would prefer. This can range from activities that you try to accomplish every day, to a concept you think about when you find the space to do so. I am also comfortable taking on an observational role and allowing you to guide the session. We can find our process together.
Training
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Washington, with licensure in good standing for the past 3 years. I am also licensed as a Substance Use Disorder Professional as of fall 2025.
I have been trained in and often use a combination of the following modalities:
Drama Therapy (playfulness, embodiment, and storytelling)
Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR)
Motivational Interviewing
Solution-Focused Therapy
Populations & Areas of Focus
I often support people navigating significant life changes, such as the death of a parent, the birth of a child, uncovering new diagnoses or identities, or changing employment or environment. I balance our work between managing current challenges and questions with recognizing the impact of past experiences and narratives on daily life.
As a queer person, I am in both personal and professional worlds with many queer and trans individuals, communities, and networks, where I am always learning new ways of being in relationship to others, to sexuality, and to oneself. I have supported clients of all ages across the LGBTQ+ community.
My professional experience has given me the privilege of working with individuals who have brought to our sessions experiences of domestic violence, chronic anxiety, alcohol dependency, gender dysphoria, sex and intimacy concerns, grief, disordered eating, immigration and displacement, incarcerated family members, parent-child relational issues, self-harm and suicidal ideation.
